PHR Big Block Fox Build

Post  windsor on Tue Mar 02, 2010 10:14 am

I don't know if any of you are following along, but Popular Hot Rodding is building a Fox body with a P-51 headed BBF. It's currently on the 3rd or 4th installment/issue with the installation of the engine in the car. ---> PHR install into the Fox

I started a thread about the engine build a few months back ---> Thread about PHR build 532 w/P-51's . Uncle Charlie even had some high praise for the build up they did.

(original PHR link ---> http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0906phr_big_block_ford_engine/index.html)

I just think it's a good thread to follow for the build up and a good one for the 'proven builds' section and we can all follow along and see how it goes, and maybe even give them some positive feedback. Sure, they're probably playing to their sponsors a bit, but so far it seems like a decently legit build. cheers

I saw that, that will be a Hot 'Lil Fox.

775 HP in a 2900-3300 LB package that is a proven recipe.

That project really pizzez me off. Did y'all read where the guy was hatin' on the C6 and so he had a "bulletproof" TH400 built for the car?

That's when I quit reading.

yeah, I did a lot of eye rolling when that stanza came out.....but hey, a ton of the guys on this site run GM trannies (I'm not one of em) so ahhh well.

Still think it's good info for all of us, especially folks new to the BBF.

anyhow, here are a few parts of the buildup I missed posting:

Gonna be interesting to see if the Guys a PHR can pull of the 1/4 mile times the motor is capible of. I'm thinking shades of project Sledge Hammer.... Big Motor and no go.... scratch

Hooker Max Flows are LOUD. Ask me how I know.

They also need to put a driveshaft loop in that thing.
