cost of a new set of SCJ's from Lem $1154

total difference $594

Stud boss won't cost you that much, looks like a real easy fix. Valve job wasn't old at all on those heads. I also send what intake valves I got back with those heads.

Ordered a Custom Soild FT from Cam Research Yesterday, Scott Main is an awsome guy to deal with and a fellow EMC compeditor

Cost $175

I'm going to get with Lem to get some rocker studs, retainers, locators and Locks to finish off the parts chasing for the top end.

Next I'm going to get the heads to Blake for the welding repair and see about getting the block machined.

Looks like a cool build Dave. To me, it's no different than how I've done my truck over the last couple of years. I know a few people that own their own businesses, that are willing to help out my cause, so most of my total build has cost me little or nothing. Sponsorship is very cool indeed. Very Happy Very Happy So far, my current rebuild on my truck has cost me nothing but daylight. Very Happy

Keep up the build. I'd bet it'll make your projected HP, maybe more.

Doug... Cool

Update

Picked up a used Duraspark distributor that look pretty good and feels tight from a local for $20

Received retianers, locks, cups and studs from Lem

Total cost $158

Cam from Cam Research $175

Previous total from 3-15-2010 $1544 add above for a total to date $1897 as of 3-28-2010

Head is dropped of at Blakes (IDT572) to repair the broken stud boss.

Very Cool Dave !! Maybe I missed it ? But how much CR are you gonna shoot for and that new bump stick is what as far as lift and duration ?

I have always liked too see what I guy could put together after a few year in racing or building..Just to see what they could do with spare parts just laying sround ! Cant wait to see what you really get out of this build and what the final Tab will be ? Cool

It is going to have some Compression in the 12:1+ range, so its not going to be a friendly 87 octane grocery getter, but it will make the power numbers and should have a good broad range also, not a peaky "Race Engine".

Cam Specs are 258/264 @ .050 with .655/.655 Lift on a 108

Anybody care to put this info in Desk top and make some predictions? Guesses anyone? Very Happy
