chassis body update

Post  KY JELLY on March 30th 2010, 9:25 pm

Thought I would share some pics of my progress which is moving a little behind schedule.
got the car all one color now just about ready for paint pending a little fab and body work on the front cap / hood.

I added spindle mount struts and building a new tree out of chromoly tubing for the front cap. I butterflied the mounting pads and lost enough material to take the place of one pad and will only run 4 on this set up.
The strange light weight brake kit comes in at 2.2 lbs per side with brake pads and mounting brackets.

Managed to lose just a tad over 20 lbs not counting the spindle mount wheels , this should more than offset the weight of the paint and keep me out of the dog house with Lem for painting the car. Laughing

I plan to add a carbon fiber wing and then wheel tubs and floor panels down the road so I should be able to get 50-60 lbs off the car. It all adds up , Dan I am gonna need a 4 sticker to replace that 5 lol!

Going to be damn slick in paint.

Are you going to 'glass in the front tree pads or just bolt/rivit in?

thanks guys.

I am going to glass them in Dave. I use screws in the pads until the fiber glass cures. It seems to hold good .
