Back On The Eternal Hemi Project
Well Rick came down last weekend & we got the 557 fired up in the dragster. Sure was nice to make some smoke & noise. It's been awhile since I have even picked up a wrench in the shop. Well we also got the hemi heads & intake bolted on to the block & put in the car. All I can say is that the car looks like it was made for the hemi...Actually it was. I told VPRC that I wanted the chassis to be able to hold a BBF Hemi..
My David Willingham engraved & powder coated valve covers just jump out at you. I think I will powder coat the motor plate black to match the valve covers. Anyway, I verified that the engine is way to tall to use the Ron's Terminators. I want to keep a cowl hood & right now the top of the throttle body is about 1.5" above the top of the cowl. So I definitely will be going to a hat set up. Hopefully I can have the hat sticking out just above the cowl hood. That's the game plan anyway.

Headers look to have plenty of room. #8 tube is the only one that is going to be tight with the steering shaft. The Sykes Bros. did a nice job fitting up the stub tubes to my Mike Balf flanges.

Here is the first new part I have bought in awhile. I said I would never spend the money on merge collectors. Well never say never. Summit Pro Shop had a pretty good price on the Dynatech merge collectors. Plus I had two Summit gift cards from Christmas...

Thanks guys!! I'm glad I could help out your engine porn addiction..
I'm just ready to have everything to start putting this beast together. I am tired of buying parts!!! Hopefully sometime soon I can get to Mike Balf Race Cars & get him going on the headers.
Special thanks to Dave Freelander for coming up with the "Eternal Hemi" name for my project. If I don't hurry up & finish it soon, I will be retired & won't be able to afford to run it. And I am only 43!!!
