thrust clearance

how mutch thrust clearance is too mutch?

i am afraid the dreaded thrust clearance problem has rared its eugly head and ruined my motor.i knew the clearance was suppose to be at least 1/8,i had that mutch but not quiet 3/16.i think their was something wrong with the motor all along it did not want to rev passed 7000 rpm.the shift point from first to second was 6700 after that the motor would kinda stall out.then it would have a serge like you hit the nitrous but i didnt have nitrous.i had the shift light set at 7000 so i would know when it reached that point,i only seen it reach the 7000 one time.anyway it has at least one or 2 broke rods.

1/8 to 3/16 is fine, I doubt that caused your failure, if it were off tranny problems would have been the result.

not wanting to rev sounds like a fuel supply or valvspring issue.

X2 on what Jon said, what type of trans? I have heard of the trans causing it, check you cooler line pressure if its up in the 100+psi it may be an issue, checked mine it was 30psi on a glide. From what I have heard if the cooler psi is up on a glide it "could" do it I don't know just sharing what I read on yellowbullet. Cut your filter open and see, no shaving nothing wrong down low.
