Ford 9 3/8

Post  TorinoGT on June 27th 2010, 6:34 pm

Hopin someone here can help me out here...

My father has a 1966 Galaxie 7 Litre (428fe) 4 speed... the rear axle is a ford 9 3/8, open with some ungodly high ratio probably 3.00:1 or worse... there is NO aftermarket for this axle at all.

my question(s) are... is there any gears and or limited slips avail for this? can you install an entire 9 inch 3rd member into the housing and use the currents axle shafts? what can I do to get a better ratio and a limited slip or locker!? help!

Mark Williams has 9 1/2" stuff, but it's more aimed at ultra high HP drag applications.
