New PB 8.68 @ 155 MPH

Post  hotrodder on September 2nd 2010, 7:28 am

Hey all, took the FED out last weekend, got a new PB - 8.68 @ 155 (from a 8.95 @ 149). Wheels up in the sky too! Time to fit wheelie bars!

Can anyone recommend a good length for the wheelie bars - chassis is around 180" wheelbase. I want to beat the 8.50's ;-)

Congats on the new PB. Isn't there a % of wheelbase theory with wheelie bars? I wouldn't put less than 60" bars on it. I don't know much about them as far as how to pick the right ones, but looking at your dragster, I'd think it would be OK there. Someone smarter than me wiil probably chime in. Very Happy

Nothing wrong with adding wheelie bars I would say 80" - 100" single bar , but I bet if you moved the battery forward quite a bit it would keep it down .

I'm with KY, Move some weight forward or add a little ballast out front first.
