I think my transmission is slipping

Post  Big block fox 339 on September 10th 2010, 4:51 pm

I've got a fox with a 450 to 500ish hp 545 with a c6 running 6.90 in the 1/8
The c6 is bone stock whith man valve body 10" converter with 16 passes on it
I know it's not gonna hold up long
The last 2 passes I was shifting at 5200 when I shifted to 2nd the rpm never dropped and wasn't pulling as hard then short shifted to 3rd and pulled hard again
Should I run it till it dies and start over or pull it now and put good parts in it ??
Keep in mind I don't have the funds to go get a 3000$ glide

How far in the future do you plan on making more power? With the power you make now a stock powerglide gear set would live a good while.

I think I would stick with what you have. We drive our glide on the street with a relatively loose converter but we have a really big cooler that most people don't.

I might would stick with what you have and like they said above check all the adjustments and if needed just rebuild it or get it rebuilt.
