My P51 headed 521.

Post  r1ckyb0nd on October 10th 2010, 9:15 am

It has been a long time in the build but I finally had my P51 Headed 521 Dynoed.
It was dyno tested at Kehl Technology Inc.
The heads and cam came from Lem along with all the help and advise we needed. Thanks Lem!
On to the numbers
Max Hp 700.5 @ 6800
Max Tq 601.2 @ 4800 but carries high 500s(574-572) from 4400-6300
We had a oil pressure problem the first run when oil pressure dropped down to 46 PSI at 6200. Next day added 3/4 of a quart extra oil and it stayed right under 60 even at 6800. Windage tray is going in soon.
Cam timing is striaght up.
Valve lash was 26º int 28º exh. we messed with the exh and changed it to 30º to see if we can get better VE% numbers but the engine likes the Cam card numbers the best.
Carb was an older Dominator 1050 with 94 Jets
Timing was locked at 32º
Used a 1" spacer on the carb.

Nice build! Whats your cam's spec's? I'm prob not gonna be the first on to tell ya, but there's a TON more power still left in it! Them p51 heads are definitely
awesome heads!

yeah there is more power as at 6800 it was still climbing. I am going to keep it there for now as I will be going from a 12.01 et 400HP full int mustang to this. Want to learn the car and such plus have fun and not break it.
Everything is out of the box , unless it needed modification to fit which was almost everything.
The Cam specs are a costum grind from Lem. I will see if he wants the numbers posted.
