Certainly it cannot be considered a race car but I will have to take it to a local strip to at least get a time. What really started all this happened in 1964 when I used to take my first new '63 Falcon 4 speed 260 to the local Pensacola, Florida drag strip and get my clock cleaned by a 283 Chevy station wagon. So while I'm not planning on Pinks All-Out I at least have to convince myself I can do a 15.5 pass!
Some shows and as much driving as I can do in between are my objectives. It's just the fulfillment of a 45 year dream of putting a big block Ford in a Falcon.
Thanks for the kind words,
Hal R

Gettin closer all the time
The self imposed deadline for completion is the Daytona Turkey Rod Run on the 26th so there's still some doing to do but at least we now have wheels so I can roll it in even if the interior isn't done (not cool!)

Hampton is a long way from M.B. From here to Charleston is about 80 miles and Charleston to M.B. is a long way. As far as cities on the map I'm 20 miles west of Walterboro which is right on I-95. Hope that helps.
I'll be updating as we get closer to Thanksgiving and the Turkey Rod Run at Daytona.
Take care,
Hal

88.8 miles. I am further south and from I-95, about 20 miles West. Cross looks like an interesting place what with Lake Moultrie and the Francis Marion Forrest being so close by. I'll have to check it out next time I'm up that way.

Engine Bay uncovered
Finally got around to taking the protective covering off the firewall and inner fender walls and here's the effect. I haven't even taken the time to clean things up or put the valve covers back on but just had to post this up

In the final turn
Heading for the final turn and hope I don't run out of fuel before the Daytona Turkey Rod Run. It's going to be close but I should make it. Cobralcon will be coming out of the interior shop Tuesday morning and that gives me the remainder of Tuesday and Wednesday to finish up.
Here are a few pics of where things are today:
Door panels and Cobralcon emblem as well as back "seat" panel:

Next are the electrical cutouts complete with all the dust on the mufflers and exhaust and a cleaned up pic of the engine bay with the hoses and valve covers installed:

Almost ready for Daytona
Picked up Cobralcon today and took a few pics. Almost ready for the Turkey Run over Turkey Day! Interior came out really fine. Couldn't be more pleased.
