AMOUNT OF LIFT ON SET OF DOVE-Cs STOCK

came across a good set of dove-C that have been never been touched with just changing springs to match the cam whats the most lift i can run on these heads, someone i was talking to said at like .525 lift they start to eat up the valve seals if the guides arent changed? IS THIS TRUE

yes if the guides are not cut down.

I believe you can run a .540 lift if you don't use valve seals, .525 sound right right with valve seals from all the stuff I read on the dove-c heads when I was working on mine.

I've got a 720 lift roller in my mustang with DOVE-C heads.But the valves are not stock . I've got a set that came on a engine that look to have stock valves and it had a mid 500 lift cam.

With my original untouched dove heads, the retainer just touched the valve seal at .535 lift. I was using Comp Cams stainless steel rockers.
