A big X2 on Tim, I bought my header kit from him, and it is top notch stuff. He gave me several tips along the way to get them together. Real nice guy and a great fabricator. Cool

I talked with Tim Murphy at the The Fab Shop Headers today.

Tim is going to make me a set of slip on turnouts. I'll cut the collector a little shorter and hopefully the low point will still be around 3.5"

Well, it was worth a shot, but it's a no go. Not going to be able to use the turnouts. For a 4.5 diameter, the shortest overall length possible makes the turnout 9" tall overall. I used an old collector as a dummy to hack up. I had to cut away most of it for the turnout to fit. I think almost no collector would hurt the power. Even then, I only had 2" ground clearance and I think it would burn the paint on the fender.

I'll just live with it. My dragster had downswepts that pointed at the intersection of ground/tire and it wasn't too bad. Thankfully, my home track has totally paved pits.
