What size nitrous shot for my combo

Post  psfracer on 10/22/2010, 11:38 pm

I have a 16 to 1 compression 572 with all the good parts, detailed here: http://www.429-460.com/proven-builds-f4/572-cid-stock-kaase-p51-heads-t7463.htm

I would like to run a 150 to a max 200 shot, single plate system---figuring on using the 7AL3 to retard the timing 8 degrees when the system is activated. Motor will be on Q16. Total timing on motor is 33 degrees. What do you think?

your 16-1 compression is going to give you a small tuning window

on my 562" deal i run a 73n 63f at 5.5 psi pulling @ 24* , i still need to clean the tune up a bit ........

get with Steve @ I-S and he will be glad to discuss your deal

On an engine with that much compression you'll want to be very careful and have the best tune in it you can.. Might even want to consider a direct port so later if once you get hooked on the nitrous you'll have better ways to step up the power as well as control the distribution better too.. Thanks, SJ

Yeah--initially I was thinking i would only need a plate because of the amount---but a direct port fogger would definitely give me more control as it could be adjusted by cylinder. I am assuming they have fuel/n20 jet sizes small enough to where a fogger is only 150-200?

Yes, you are heading in the correct direction !! And as ^^^ said starting around a .024 nitrous jet will get you in the ball park on a safe start.. Thanks, SJ
