New guy from D-Town
Hi Everyone, I'm from the Detroit area. I found this site from doing my research on building a 598" A head monster. I have an 86 mustang notch that has a 351 0.060 over with Vic Jr heads and NOS. Car has been 10.80's in the 1/4 foot breaking it N/A. I plan on building the 598 and possibly dropping it in next fall.
So far here is the plan for the 598" monster.
A460 block or eliminator
Trick Flow 360cc CNC A-460 heads
Trick Flow A-460 intake
Pro systems Carb ( will get with them on size)
Custom bullet cam ( not sure on specs yet will need help with this)
Diamond Pistons (coated and gas-ported)
Eagle 6.8" H-beam rods
Eagle 4.5" Forged crank
So far I have the crank and rods, steadily purchasing parts as the budget permits. Some things I need some help with: Any other single carb cast intakes for the A heads, And someone to spec me a cam for the combo that knows the BBF with A type and similar heads.
Thanks---Brad
Also awesome forums! A-lot of great info here!
I am shooting for 950 Hp N/A and will hit it with a max of 250 NOS
I will be running this combo in my mustang on true 10.5 tires and true stock location suspension.

Thanks I will give him a call. Also what can an A-head big inch BBF with single carb cast intake make N/A. I have read of some builds with sheet metal intakes and dual carbs making over 1100 N/A. I have not seen any one with the Trick Flow 360cc cnc A-head and single carb cast intake yet.

Thanks, I am in the Downriver area. I go up to telegraph a lot and hang out at the OCB on Saturdays when I can get away from work. I put my mustang together at the end of the season this year. I will run it next year with the smallblock until I can stuff the bigblock in. I was going to do a big small block, then I came to my senses and said why not a bigblock. Started doing my research was thinking about the BBC in a mustang, but I hate doing that, and looked at the BBF and I cant believe the power per dollar you get with these, the 385 series BBF is a great engine package. I was even thinking of putting the 598 bbf in a 67 Camaro

Sounds like a killer build...I'd say you will go well past 950 hp with that combo. Post up some pics when you get a chance.

Not only do they make easy power cheaply, but they are easy to build. And fun at that if you ask me, its so easy a 16 year old could do it
Hope to see you at the track if you ever come out to Milan for an event, should be a healthy engine when all is said and done.

1,000 + if it is a high compression engine.

Thanks, with the pistons I plan on getting from diamond I am expecting the static ratio to be 14.3 to 1
