Post  studly on Mon 6 Dec - 15:11

Anybody got any pictures or digrams of what a properly laid out roll cage for 8.50 or 7.50 certified should look like.

Big differance between a 8.5 and 7.50 cage, 8.50 is your basic 10 point cage, 7.50 is SFI. You really need the SFI book to see all the bars under the car.

Going with the SFI specs even if you never plan on going that fast can add to the future resale value of a car when/if you ever decide to sell it.

If your looking for an SFI book, & your car is a "back-half" car or a "mini-tub/stock suspension" car, you will probably need the 25.5 SFI spec book since it deals with cars that have stock/modified floor and firewall with OEM frame and/or uni-body construction.

car is stock suspension no mini tubs and untoched floorplans as of yet, I have weld in sub frame connectors, but was thinking of adding threw the floor subframs while interior is out and upgrading cage over the winter, car is getting to fast without trying to upgrade cage. I do have the normal upgrades, upper and lower controll arm reinforcement, anti roll bar and solid bushings with all upr bolt in suspension parts and qa1 double adjustable shocks bolt in. but the floorpan has never been cut just reinforced with plates above the upper control arm mounts and lower controll arm mounts in rear.

after you do the through floor subframes there really isn't much more to do with the floor with what you described you have. spend the $20something dollars for the SFI 25.5 book.
