Yeah I saw that a while ago, this small tire stuff is getting out of hand. Soon, they'll have skinnies in the front AND back

Re: x 275 ........
I honestly don't care, if it hooks good and goes fast-mission accomplished. I might joke about it and all, but it really doesn't matter to me. I like the fatties though, but if you can tune your suspension good enough you can run just about anything.
That and launching, converter, ratios...

Or it could just be a Davis traction control box if they are allowed in this class.

Re: x 275 ........
I wish we had more of that around here that allowed the 88 turbo instead of a single 76.

Still have to get down the track for a baseline.

Regardless of the baseline there will always be some that will "crutch the combo" hard enough with the box that they pull out enough timing to shake the nuts off the car stuffing it in a guardrail.
It would be damn interesting to see just how many teams that do use the box could actually get down the track & run a number just relying on the chassis tuning & driver pedal control these days. I would bet that there are more than a few guy's that have no business being behind the wheel without the box.

Re: x 275 ........
I have wondered if anyone has ever tried to call a boost controller a traction device? In theory, what is the difference between a Boost controller and MSD programable ignition box?
Ps. I know they are not the same as a Davis box (reactive). Just wondering.

Technically you could call them all a form of traction control if you ramp boost/timing (or whatever) up/down/around during the pass to avoid spinning.
The real difference is real time "on the fly" automated control vs a pre programmed setting/ramp/curve the team inputs before the pass.
