What T/C? Do you want to run Hi or Low? How long of pits, how deep? How much power are you putting out with the current engine? Cool

I ran 4.10 gears on my 80 f250 with 35 boggers. Also ran in low range.
If you want to run in high range I would go with 4.56 gears.

I've got a pretty large motor for my class, but I'm running the 3.50's in low range with a 205 T/C. It pulls really strong out the back door but could use a higher stall on the converter. I'm considering going to a 208 for a deeper low, and some weight loss. Cool

Unless you got some serious hp and tq. I would say running on the high side would be out. If you got a decent big block I would say run on the low side with 3.50,3.73 gears. I run my 347 on the low side of a bw1350 (2:48) with 4.10 gears. I wind it pretty tight in 1st and 2nd but if I shift it to third in a bog pit it pulls it down hard. In a mud/dirt drag I can use 3rd gear. 3rd gear(1to1 to 2:48) on the low side would be nearly the same as 1st(2.46 to 1:1) on the hi side.
