Re: Jim's Little 460 AND 2000 RANGER
Just alittle update got my B&M Pro Ratchet Shifter in today got a drive shaft today out of a 95 linc. close to right length.Might have to adjust the rearend back about 1/2" to 3/4" but I have room to do that if needed.Going next friday to get the complete rear disc brakes off of it for $100 I might have to make the backing plate to make them fit.I can fab up one if needed so no big deal I will make list as what I have to do to put them if any body want to put disc on there's.The Merc.Grand Marcqee carrys the same disc set up to.After getting all this on all I will have left is rearshock/springs,front wheels, tires, and lexan windows the list is getting short. But work has slowed to 32hrs aweek so this small list will take a while to get, unless I can find some good paying side work or sale some of my toys
that I don't care to do.Saling a pile of scrap iron to get the rear brake next Friday.Post some pics when I get the shifter drive shaft in might do a burn out on the concret slab out front when I get it all in.

The shifter is in but the drive shaft is going to be a pain putting in and taking it out as I will have to drop the rearend down
to get enough room to feed it through the 2 drive shaft looms.I should have move the 1st one up about 6" or made it removable but I welded both in. Thought I would have enough room to get it in but not I wanted it back far enough if I busted a u-joint the drive shaft wouldn't hit the track. It want be that hard to put in but just have to take jack it up real high put it on the jack stands unhook the shocks and diag.bar and let the reaend drop down to get the drive shaft over the rearend as they are not enough room to go under it.But that is part of building and learning at the same time.

The drivers door with everything on it from the factory weighed 75lb with it gutted out it weighs 35lb. I ran it down the road from the cumminty house spinning aliitle in 1st had to padel it alittle hit 2nd it gripped and man this time I got to feel the real power this milded built 460 has ran it about half way through 2nd before i had to get out of it to get turned in to the house.Boy it felt good and it went streight didn't try to fish tail this time.Just alittle ruff with no shocks. But they are next on the list.

I got my shocks today and put them on and got the lexan on the pssager side done.Getting real close to getting it to the track.

I know the truck needs another bath it is dusty but as soon as I get all the windows in it will get a bath and buffing.Don't want to feel the insides full of water.

All the lexan windows are in except the windshield I will replace the factory windshield over the winter.Ordered the 2 wheels for the front from jegs today Rick aka 557 mazda gave me the 2 front tires he took off his when he put the front runner on his, they will work for mine until I can buy some for the front.Al aka 72mav gave me 2 used slicks for the rear for some testing and tuning on the chassis.Did some trading for the rear disc setup go tomorrow afternoon and take the rear brake setup off and start putting all of it on this week end.I will post what all it take to put the rear Linc disc brake off a 8.8 on a big bearing 9".I know I will have to fab up the bracket to hold the cal. on with.

Oh ya it will get a bath this weekend to
