yes on fuel cell and battery in back I am going to be taking the skins off the bed and and using the skins only with tail gate loosing every oz. I can I will make some light wieght frame to hold them on wasn't going this route at first but I might not ever build another one but who knows I would like to have it 2500# or less but probley be aroung 2800 with the heavy iron head 460.

Seems like you could move the engine back into the front seat area and put your new seat in the back of the extended cab....lol.....

Cool project!

the back of the motor will be about 12" behind the fire wall that is in it now and new fire wall will be even with the front of the door opening that will put the seat close to the back of the cab this is the reason I was set on the ex cab ranger with the back doors it should be fairly easy to get in and out thats the plains right now anyway.

Cool project Very Happy
My only question is if its a good idea to remove the inside of the bed. I have been adding wieght to the rear frame rails of my 84 Ranger to get good wieght distribution.

That why I am moveing the engine back and going with the 4 link in the rear so it will transfer the wieght better I am not sure as how much wieght I will need yet the cutting of the bed will be last after I get the engine, trans, and cage and the inside of the cab made it is going to be a long project in deed
