89 Bronco 460/ZF swap

Post  crazed on January 29th 2011, 2:26 pm

Thought I would post up what I have been up to.

This is the "Street Truck", it is my '89 XLT, It started life as a 5.0/aod

I did a 6" superlift TTB lift

Did a 351 swap, mass air

D44 SAS

9" rear

I have never been happy with the 351/aod, I get crap mileage, and It was just time for a change for me.

I picked up this truck

It has a 460 EFI and a ZF 5 speed.

I will post lots of pics as I go along.

Very Happy

Motor came out today

On the floor

Now to deal with this mess

Engine compartment harness came out because it is modified for mass air and I figure it should be easier to just use the F250 harness

I will be using the f250 frame standoffs, and factory F250 mounts.

I was pulling the upper intake off, and bumped the broom handle i was using to prop up the hood. Of course then the 75 pound hood crashes into the back of my head full force and shoves my forehead into the very exposed and very metal water pump. 3 nice dents in my head, and one of them was bleeding pretty good.

This is after some cleanup from my girlfriend.

Hurt a bit, but back at it.

Hood off.

Clean in the valley, no sludge at all

coming out

Did some firewall damage, but I didnt care at this point. Motor did not come out easy with the zf5 attached. I am pretty sure I will install them seperately in the bronco.

Its on the floor with the 351. If you look closely there are 7 engines total in that area. :doh0715:
