need some education.... intakes

Post  Maddmattmustangs on February 26th 2011, 4:18 am

i cant sleep so ive been thinking alot about intakes for my current project and i was wondering if a tunnel ram would make more power than the New TFS intake?

how much more power is the TFS worth over the 4500 victor? Embarassed

the TFS mafia intake will make between 10-15hp more then a worked over victor , plus its lighter and has better a/f dist.

The gains that were seen with the mafia over the victor were on engines that were of bigger caliber, on a "lesser" build a Victor will be just fine, and unless you want the bling I wouldn't fool with a tunnel.

From the complete tests which I have seen, each manifold has it's strong points. Depending upon how large the engine is or exactly where you are looking to gain power will determine the manifold best suited to your combination.
The manifolds simply have differing power characteristics from one another and which one is "better" will depend upon what you want to achieve in the end.

stick with a victor and a 1050 dominator if you have one..... the TR's that are availiable are way old designs and not worth the aggrivation.

528 with 13:1 compession, warmed over scj's or maybe a p51 head, garrantteed bounce
So overall the mafia intake is good with room to grow? I really like the weight savings

So maybe a victor on a smaller motor and mafia on the larger?

Either one will work.... if you have a 4150 one and carb use it untill you can afford A dominator and then just rework the 4150 intake to accept the 4500.... its not hard to do.
