wiper switch removal in a 56 Ford sedan
By chance does anyone know how to get the wiper switch out of a 56 Ford car?

Do you have a picture of it? I had one where you needed a little hook tool to release the knob and then you could get to the retaining nut. Wow, that sounded kinda dirty.......good thing we're all so mature

Doesn't the bezel unscrew?

I would rather wipe...than switch!
The last time I saw one of those ('56) was 40 years ago....but I think that there is a spring clip inside the front, or dash side of the knob. I recall taking an old choke cable and bending a J-hook on the end to reach around to the "center front" of the knob where it goes on to the shaft. There is a groove in the knob where you find the springy end of the clip, release it and the knob comes off, then you can unscrew the bezel. It should have slots on each side of the center hole.
The headlight switch has the little button on top of the switch that releases the shaft.
Don't hold me to this.....I am getting old....
If that does not work, I will crawl inside the trailer and peek at the '58's wiper switch. It has vacuum wipers...not much good with the tunnel ram and twin toilets. Darn little manifold vacuum WFO on that one.

I figured it out. There was a tiny screw on the knob that I couldn't see from where I was at. Sometimes the hardest thing has the simplest solution.
