Setting valve lash cold?

i can see tighter lash helping out the lifters& rockers but how could it do anything for the springs? scratch

If the valve action is not as aggressive at opening and closing, the springs won't be required to do as much work to control 'em. There's not gonna be MUCH difference but, "the straw that broke the camel's back" may not show up.

My combo is scj heads and a460 rockers the cam i got from scotty j says .020 hot lash what should they be set cold for breakin ?

Well found it

4 less cold for aluminum heads and 4 more cold for iron heads. With aluminum heads the lash opens up and with iron it closes when they get to temp.

Randy and Jon you guys were almost spot on with the cold lash cheers cheers .
I had to snug up the exhaust just a little. The intake was on the money.
This cam makes my little 472 sound alot more wicked than it really is.
We will see if it gets me where I need to be Friday night.

Oh and I almost bought 2 1/2 cases of 20w50 green oil for $90 the other day Twisted Evil
Then I realized my daily driver was almost out of gas Evil or Very Mad
