When I first put a BB in my Mustang I used the chrome C-6 dipstick that was sold by FRPP which is basically a stock style dipstick that was chromed, so I'm sure a stocker will fit fine. Other than bending the tab a little to adjust the positioning it fit in my 1992 just fine. I've still got it, but I went with the Hughes because of the locking feature. It also has a better seal where it goes in the case.

to be NHRA legal it has to have the locking feature. if you have the stock tube just go find a locking dipstick out of a chebby vehicle from the 90's-early 2000's. just cut to length. the hughes locking top is just a gm one that is red.

Yes I now have a Hughes because of that, but the original poster didn't say anything about the NHRA or drag racing and a stock dipstick will work just fine on the street!

Thank you Gary. I am not concerned with being NHRA legal. Just want something functional for the time being. But it is also good to know that the rules state you need a locking dipstick. I will see if I can find a stock one that will work.

My buddy's 460/C6 combo in his 92 uses a stock style one from Hughes.... Fits perfect. He's using the FRPP swap mounts. Engine location might come into play on if it fits or not.
