It's turned down

I was at Blake's shop a few months back, Blake his friend Don and I were there, and a couple of the local Cheby guys was there. The one guy has a back-halfed camaro with a Big inch Brodox Headed BBC. I asked him how fast it was he said 5.95 in the eighth, but he had it, "Turned Down to 6.20's-6.30's". The other guy had a small block alcohol injected Nove and his car was "TURNED DOWN" to.
Blake, Don and I were talking and we have heard many Chevy guys have have their car "TURNED DOWN".
Is there a "Knob" in chevy Drag cars, because they all have cars that are screaming fast but they all have them,,,,,,,, "TURNED DOWN" ! ! !
Perhaps whatever they use to "Turn it down" is not a knob. I looked in Summit, Jegs and Doug Herbert and couldn't find a turn down knob.
Do the Cheby guys in your area have their cars turned down to?
If so what do they "turn it down with? Where is it located? Do they ever turn them up? Why wouldn't you turn it up?

chevy's come that way.if you turn them up they'll pop,kinda like a factory speaker in a kia.

That's awesome. I had one of those knobs. Took me a while to find it though. Now mine's always TURNED UP. To 11. And it broke off when I tried to go to 12.

I also love it when they ran a best of 5.90 but for some reason no time slips, no one saw it, and not even video to back it up.

"Turned Down" Yea it's a term all GM drag racers use when they are in a bench racing atmosphere w/other "Fomoco" racers. When the ? comes up Why their car isn't as fast as ours,they all use their phraise"We have them turned down". They use it as a DEembarrassment line. Seriously
