I think I returned to much back to the tank. I will pinch off the return line and bring the amps up higher on the pump and push more full to the front. I may need a higher flowing regulator too.

That's what I thought but, it was done a lot in the past with gasoline. The GOOD injection guys must be selling stuff instead of racing stuff, lol.

I built a small block Mopar with mechanical stack injection with gasoline on the street and Jim Kinsler had that system almost perfect for cruising around OR racing it.

I have the gas nozzles and have had mine running on Q -16 in the shop the throttle response is killer on gas too. I adjusted the barrel valve with my egt until the egts got around 700-750 idling. You would think it would not lean out from there , but I don't have the budget to build another engine on what I think because I think wrong too much lol! .

Just from watching a friend of mine that switched to a fuel pump (80a-0 to 80a-1) the same size as mine on alcohol with considerably smaller nozzles (39 v/s 31) than mine I figured he would be way rich , but he is running the same return pill I do 120. I can only guess the smaller nozzles really limit the fuel delivery even with higher pressure.

Its just a matter of getting the nerve to flatt foot it on the track to get a base line to start with Smile

The first 2,000 RPM after stall will tell you ... after that, without other by-passes, it only gets richer.

Mine does not move but about 1000 rpm after stall during a run. Would it simply nose over like Blake's did with the fuel pressure issues or hurt something if it leaned out a bit in your opinion ?

First, check the WOT mixture "loaded" at stall ... if that's OK then get "somewhere" to make it leave as normal as you can but, immediately shut it off when it comes down ... check the mixture again. If that is all OK it will only get richer from there with no pump by-pass as it will gain pressure with rpm, (unless it's not working correctly), so, now on gasoline you will have to work out the maximum pump pressure by-pass and mid rpm and high rpm by-passes. (1/8th mile you probably won't need a mid by-pass).
Remember, unlike alcohol, gasoline loses power when it gets a little rich.
LOTS of pills to get gasoline worked-out right however, when it is, it will fly.

Bowling Green test

Post  IDT-572 on June 20th 2011, 9:33 pm

Ran at Bowling green today, with Lems help and Zack from Quick Fuel most of the miss is gone. the last pass the power came up and it almost got on the bumper. 1.24 60ft again. It stumbled as the front end was coming back down, I think fuel came out the front bowl vent and flooded it for a bit. It cleared up about time the front tires were about to touch down. It revved clean then to 7000 in first shifted and didn't miss in second either .

I think the next time out it should start to dial in. Cool
