Fabricated housing Empty Fabricated housing

Post  whatbumper May 13th 2011, 10:51 am

I am looking for a good fabricated rear end for the new ride. I am not sure of the width yet but it will be for ladder bars. All of my internals are still usuable so I will just need to cut the axles down to the correct width.

What housing have you had good luck with?

My T-Bird has a Fab 9 housing from Alston. I like it.

It's their mild steel for ladder bars. One of the bottom 2 on this page. Only diff is the bracket spacing.

I'm looking hard at using the Racecraft housing in my Futura. Probably use their uppers/lowers too.

Fab 9 with a backbrace and call it done. When I got mine from dutchman axles, they said they have several guys 1000+ hoursepower guys running them with no complaints. They had a package at the time for the housing at whatever leingh with what everends you wanted welded on and up to 35 sline axles for 700 bucks. So I went that rout and never looked back.

The 'moly fab housings from VP race cars were a nice looking piece. But now that VPRC is gone the next best thing is either one from K&K Advanced Door Car Technologies (past VPRC employees) or R2B2 race cars (Jim Geese's new home).

The ART fab housings in their catalog look like they might be OK too.
