US 60 Ford Race Empty US 60 Ford Race

Post  Wheelie58 May 18th 2013, 1:18 am

I guess I must be the last one awake at the US 60 race here in KY.
The place is awful quiet. Heck, even Dan-o is silent next door. Yeah..it drizzled all day, but the food was killer, the people were great and the various "tech sessions" were informative.
We finally had a window of time with no rain, allowing lots of track activity. The track was very good, with the '58 laying down a 40-year best 1/8 mile run of 5.73 at 121. I turned up the wick and went back o run in he 60s and got shut off in the water box as the rain continued.
Good day of visiting old and new friends and lots of KFM customers.
And tomorrow we race!

Wish all you guys and gals a safe trip home. It was good to meet old acquaintances and make a few new acquaintances. I wish the weather had been a bit nicer Friday although the intermittent rain ("what the hell is intermittent rain?" as quoted by Roseville Randy), did provide for good fellowship. Heck if no one else had a good time, Turbo had a ball!

Dave.
