electric shifter

im going to put a electric shifter in my car  c4 3 speed, i was wondering if i have it to shift at say 6500 and i hit 6500 in the burnout and it shifts to 2nd gear, will i have to reset or turn the shifter off in order for it to make that 1-2 shift after i  launch? or just leave it off till after the burn out?

leave it off until after your burn out then set it right before you stage

ok, i have to get a electric shifter,i cant seem to hit my shift point, and the car is very picky about what rpm it like, shift at 6000 and it goes 11.90s shift at 6200 and it slows to 12.10s..6500 and its 12.25s,,and so on..
