I can't get a break!!

I found out last week My right bicep tendon is torn and needs repaired.
Surgery is set for May 15th.
I guess my 95 ranger bbf project is on hold for awhile  
The Dr. says I have a 0lb weight restriction for 12 weeks after surgery. Strength therapy will follow that.
How do you old guys keep fit and still build race cars???  
I won't be 50 until September

Dang that's a weird deal. I can't believe that takes so long to heal. Wish we were closer, I'd work on that Ranger for you anytime. Hope it all comes together bud. Keep us updated as you can, and know you and the family are in our prayers.

I know how you feel. I had surgery to fix a ruptured elbow tendon last year. I was off full duties at work for five months. My advise is to do exactly what your surgeon and therapist tell you to do, especially the exercise program you'll get.

X2 Check out your surgeon thoroughly. I had my right rotator cuff done and it had to be done twice, the first guy butchered it and the repair fell apart.

I have been very lucky myself never have had to have surgery but I have to have surgery on my eye if I will stop spending on my Ranger

Sorry to hear about your arm, I suspect mine is torn on my left arm. I have an appointment tomorrow AM to get my MRI results.
How long ago did you tear yours? From what I read online after a few weeks it becomes more difficult to repair; mine was around the 7th or 9th of last month and seems like it's taking too long to get to this point.

I have a distal biceps tendon tear just proximal to it's attachment to the radial tuberosity.
In non medical terms, my bicep tendon is torn where it hooks up on the inside of my elbow.
Stephen, My deal sounds real similar to yours. I plan on doing exactly what they tell me.
MikeR, I have done my homework on the surgeon. He has been doing this surgery since 1996 and only 2 cases where the patient had to have a second surgery.
Sheldon, It's been bothering me since last October and I put it off until January. I now don't recommend this

Yep, that's exactly what I had. I now have two little bits of titanium to keep it all together. The exercise program was not a big deal, but it was stressed to me the importance of doing the stretching routine.

It sounds like I need to make a KFM laser cut BBF rotator cuff reinforcement.
1/4" T6 aluminum that will let us wrench forever!
Ok...back to reality.

CJ or A460 types. Attaches with a Danny Bee belt with Velcro

Keith, let me know when you have some done, I'll take one for each side. My left shoulder has been hurting for a while now and I don't want to go to the doctor, putting off the inevitable.

Alan, It looks like I'll have lots of free time in the next few weeks and I won't be totally helpless
