hey this is Rabbit I was just wondering what is too tight of a gap and too loose of a gap on the mains I got a 466 run 6500 RPM 525 HP with a lot of street use getting hard on her every now and then im getting .002 to .0025 and .003 across the board are these gaps too tight? im torqueing it down to 90 ft pds any help would be greatly appreciated

.002 is too tight shoot for .003

If its a mostly street engine I would just use a good 10w30 oil and you should be fine But,make sure these measurements are correct and measured w/mic.Anything less I would go w/1X bearing.

would you say .0035 is to loose street/strip I do have a HV oil pump 8qt pan I know HV has nothing to do with pressure but how much would pressure drop going that big of gap by experience  Question I also heard .0032 is the max I think but not to much literature on .0035 I just have to ask thanks for the reply's guys

smaller gap thicker oil? 20-50 is to thick for me

Smaller clearance = thinner oil.

Check it with 100-105 lbs. ft. rather than 90#.
