lifter not centered

man I have this 466cid and the lifter is 3/4 of the way on the cam lobe and I have one more camshaft and I had put it in and it dose the same thing I mean a 1/4 of it is hanging off what problems would I see down the road from this has anyone one seen this before ?

The offset on the lobe is intended to make the lifter (flat tappet only) spin in order to make it wear more evenly. Imagine how it would wear if it was centered.
