No problem with that swap.

X2.... the only time you would have a problem is if you was trying to use the truck Flywheel with the car trans because most truck flywheels are 164 and the car Flywheel is 157.

Re: 302 high output
What year did Ford change to the 50 oz. imbalance from the 28 oz? I was thinking it was later in the trucks than in the cars?

Don't hold me to this as I'm not around the books right now but I think it was 82 in trucks

http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Tech/FordFlywheeslAndFlexplates.htm Some pretty good info on SBF's in here. This guy is claiming 1981, and that match's some of the casting charts I have seen. You have to be careful if your vehicle was made right around the time the switch was made, same as the 460's in 78-79 trucks with 2Y and 3Y cranks.

Re: 302 high output
I was told that if you go back to the 69-71 timing for the 460s. Straight up timing? You get a noticeable increase in hp. I don't know that is true but if it is would it also work with the 89 302ho?

Re: 302 high output
I was just thinking there might be some inexpensive important before before we bolted everything back on the block we have it stripped for paint. Since the subject was brought up what kind of hp would I gain on my 460? It's in my 95 bronco as far as I know the motor is 77 not sure what it's out of had home made solid front motor mount was in a 77 f100. And what year would I order parts from, 429 or 460. Victor intake is on order from summit for it now should be here in eight days.
Re: 302 high output
I put a 90 model 302 ho in my 86 everything hooked up fine it has more power than the factory 302 that was in it plus get better mpg by about 2 mile per gallon.

Re: 302 high output
We put a offinhouser carb intake adapter I think it was a adapter bolted to the newer heads and a demon carb. motor supposedly had a mild cam seems to work good
