This thread reminds me of EVERY race weekend at the track...I'm surrounded by power glides with all makes twisting them and I get the constant "you need a glide" talk....I can't do it, it's not going under my car...LOL...my C6 has GM 245mm Torrington bearings and that eats at me as it is. Rolling Eyes....And for the record, Franks VB's are indeed - the shit. afro

The only gm part in mine is the parking pawl and rod assy.

That maybe but, apparently Frank is one of the few guys left around that can make a really good C6 valve body for them especially with a transbrake. Tear down a C6 valve body next to a TH400 one, and it is not hard to see why they are a problem.

Course there's always the rumor that Ford originally designed the 2 sp Powerglide & sold it to GM. So the excuse for not using a 'glide because "it's a chebby design" might not hold water anyway. Razz

I kind of thought that to but, I think the good recommendations, plus keeping the thread on the front page might help him more. I was thinking of the C4 valve body deal to when all the Power Glide crap started getting slung around also. I have a few ideas why he does not but, I will save them and see what he says, if anything about it.

The C6 is a heavy pig but they are so reliable to the average Joe like myself that it's cost effective to use one. My PG buddy's are tearing theirs down yearly or semi yearly....A built C6 can go for a long time. I could loose a little ET with the PG but it makes beating the PG's more fun because they all know what's under my heap...LOL...They lost to a Ford, all Ford from front to back. Very Happy
