Broken oil pump pickup

My oil pressure gauge started bouncing up and down and short story is this is what I found when I removed pan.
Anyone else experienced this and can share what the cause and remedy is?

Did the pickup have a bolt strap to a main bolt..."edit" looking closer at the pictures it looks like a front sump, but the weight of the pickup can cause stress on the weakest point, many tack weld the front sumps as the rear sumps are bolted with a strap to a main bolt/stud.

is that a us made part or is it an import?

I'm in R&D and we do a lot of vibration testing. That looks like a tube failure due to vibration i.e. The tube and pickup are "Shaking" at or near it's natural frequency which will fatigue the part and then form a crack which will then result in a complete failure over time.

My guess is that looks like a cj type pickup with probably a standard pan.it wouldn't have quite enough clearance so someone bent the tube a little so the pan would go on and unknowingly cracked the tube.

I've never seen one break there in all the years I've been doing this.

It's an aftermarket pan and has been used with this pickup for 9years.

In that case maybe it just broke?
