these are on my 70 torino and the caltrac bars will bolt on and work on other fords with leaf springs. the spring should also bolt on to other fords. these springs out of the box retained the ride height I had using a set of springs I ah bought from st Louis spring company and they were ordered for stock ride height. this car is a street driven car and has been put in the daily drive slot when need be without touching anything. if your looking for added traction without having to change from the stock wheels and tires and keeping they way the car looked from the factory or cutting up your car this setup is pretty amazing. my car has constantly changed in different motor combo's 400-650 hp, I have used many different tire sizes, stock tires to the latest in m/t drag radials and the best thing was you adjusted the bars to change the preload and off you go. I knew I had done the right thing after bolting this setup on went to the track and the track owner himself along with a few other inquiring minds wanted to know what I had done to the motor because the car was now picking the front wheels up and this was with a maybe 500hp motor.

Re: 9 inch 3rd member caltracs mono leaf springs headers
Caltrac lists a bunch of axle and shock location options for the traction bars. What axle and shock location are they set for?
Any idea what rate the springs are? Whats the distance from the axle center to the fender lip when the car is sitting on them?

Info
9 inch housing stock shock location I will check but I believe both are in the rear. with 295/55/15 tires I think it's 13 1/2 inches from the center of the axle to the lip of the fender. Spring rate from Caltrac was stock rate and ride height for a 70 Torino forgot to add that I also have the rancho 9 way adjustable shocks 31 spline small bearing axles aftermarket and complete rear big drum brakes with e brake cables new wheel cylinders brake shoes and hardware kits pictures to come tommorow

Re: 9 inch 3rd member caltracs mono leaf springs headers
Ford offered a few different springs for the Torino rear end. A regular spring and then the cobra/competition spring which was thicker and slightly lower and then a heavy duty spring which was similar to the cobra spring but with a slightly higher rate.

When you order the springs it simply states stock or + or- from stock or custom and I ordered stock height I will call tommorow and ask which spring rate is used for the stock ride height.

And ranchero springs are longer than Torino/Fairlane passenger cars.

Ok, let me know what they say. I'll be interested in them if they are similar to the cobra or HD springs. I'll also be interested in the caltracs to go with them.
Thanks
