11" TCI Break-away C6 TC big pilot
I have for sale an 11" TCI breakaway C6 torque converter with 1.85" pilot in very good used condition. Purchased this for my trans but found I needed the smaller 1.375" stepped pilot. Fluid looks great, NO debris. Fellow I purchased this from said his dad used it in his Galaxie with very limited use, found he needed a higher stall converter. $100 plus shipping from 34491. Can send pics on request. If possible, would also trade for similar stall rating(23-2600 rpm) and condition TC with smaller 1.375" pilot, this converter looks to be in VG to excellent condition. Thank you in advance.

If you like the converter you can get it to a converter shop they can turn the noise down for you for little bit of nothing. Think they charged me like 20 bucks at PTC.

Thank you for the reply! I was doing some research on getting this done locally to me here in N. central Florida, didn't have much luck finding a local shop, probably a send it out type of deal. Definitely would rather keep it. Thanks again.

You can also have your crank machined for both , I think scat cranks are machined for both. That's a good converter, I have one and it put up with some abuse for years running 10.60's and then the once in a while 150 shot , couldn't foot brake it over 15-1600 but it worked good.

Thank you for your reply Nuclearcobra, much appreciated. I currently have a TCI Saturday night special TC installed but was looking for just a bit more stall, my application is VERY mild compared to others here. Dove headed 472 with 9.25-9.5 to 1 CR using a Comp Cams 280 magnum(I realize not the best cam but I built this engine when I was 21 back in '90). I was on the fence on the increased stall since I currently cruise @ 58mph mph with 2600 rpm (3.25 GR with 27.5" tire), didn't want to experience an increase in heat build-up due to any additional slippage. Obviously, I am a novice in dealing with a TC. Thanks again!

If you can get them to a local machine shop should be able to do it. All they use is a lathe

Thank you, I will have to check out a couple different shops near me, come to think of it my buddy has a lathe that he uses to cut new snap ring grooves in C6 drums for more clutches. Hopefully his has the necessary capacity. Thanks again.
