4.6 engine prelube

With a 4.6L engine would a Moroso accusump work to prelube a newly rebuilt engine before starting? One of my sons just had a 4.6 4V engine rebuilt & he was told to "just start it & it will be okay" which I don't buy into. Without a distributor/oil shaft to prelube with a drill will an accusump be a good way to accomplish this? Will give me a good excuse to by one for myself>

Look behind the oil filter... There should be a a port to hook up a hand pump to and prime it

as a ford tech all we would do is just spin them over with the starter. no spark no fuel. look for oil coming out of the lifters and slinging off the timing chain cam gear...

I'll probably pre lube it first with a pump of some sort or a pressurized tank, and then spin it over like you said w/o fuel & spark just in case the pump didn't get oil everywhere it should have. Don't wanna take any chances.
