Tell us what your plans are .Is this for a street car drag car pickup truck . Having a good machinist familiar with fords goes a long way.This is a good forum you will receive good ideas but a bit more information will help us to help you .Doug

thanks for the help, i plan on this being a daily driver, but i want it to be a little better than stock. i wanna spin the tires and be able to drive this everyday

block has been machined already, 30 over on block and 10 under on crank. machinist is very knowledgable and been doing this for 20 years

Sounds like you've decided on a 466" engine so you'll want to build for torque based on on the build chart already mentioned since your going to be putting it in a heavy car like the T-bird.

well i didnt decide on a 466, the block needed that much work to get it right, so this is what i have to work with. i do have a specific question, do i need to watch piston ring gap on this particular engine build

As long as it is large enough for the pistons being used.
Most often ... recommended top ring end gaps are a minimum needed to prevent "end butting".
