Intake manifold
What would be the best intake to use on a 466 with dove heads, cam?, high compression, single 4bbl, alcohol, in a pulling application (would prefer 4150 base)? Thanks for any input given.

Re: Intake manifold
Single plane high rise. Like an Edelbrock Victor, or a Mafia intake

With D0VE heads, the Trick Flow "Track Heat", (not the Victor or Mafia), would be most beneficial with those intake ports.
Re: Intake manifold
Thank you for the info. Will I have to do much grinding to get the ports lined up with the track heat? The heads are untouched in the port area.

Not really ... that manifold is manufactured for use with the passenger car size ports.
Re: Intake manifold
Thanks again for your help, I’ll have to get one of them and try it out.

Re: Intake manifold
How would you view that intske vs an old ported port o sonic on a low rpm stroker, under 6k rpms?

Re: Intake manifold
I ran the Ford victor jr, with the dove heads on my puller for quite a while, had the A514 cam, and L2443 pistons, was a good hard pulling

No comparison ... the Port-O-Sonic, even ported, is not close anywhere in the power range.
The Port-O-Sonic won't match up well even against an Edelbrock "Torquer II".
Re: Intake manifold
It might be a consideration once im ready to swap heads. How is it on height?

It is 6 3/4" tall; about a 1/2 inch taller than a Victor.
AGAIN, it has "passenger car" port location and size ports. TFS-53400111
Re: Intake manifold
I'll either swap to ported d3 or hopefully big chamber Edelbrocks once I get everything straight now. I don' t want to remove pistons for notching or get into raised exhaust ports....I need streetable compression, so not many options.l even if they aren't the best.
