Headers
I know this is not exactly “engine tech”. I am building a 64 Galaxie with a 460. It has a Mustang 2 front suspension & the motor is pushed back about 9”. I’m looking for a 460 header that puts the collectors no lower than the bottom of the oil pan or tranny pan. The BBF Mustang Super Comps I have hang the collector down about 4” lower than any of the drivetrain components. Does anyone know of a header that has these quality’s? I really would like to stick with a long tube pre built header. This car sits LOW.

Re: Headers
Shortys would be the easy button. It’s hard to “try” headers. Some of the pickup headers look good in pictures. I just can’t tell how low they hang in relation to the pans.

Re: Headers
Other than hanging too low, do your Hooker Super Comp headers clear everything else, as far as chassis, and steering components?
If so, I'd cut the flanges off and remove the appropriate amount of primary tubing until they tuck up nicely to where you want them, and then weld the flanges back on,

I’ve gone back & forth on this turbo thing. So please forgive me. But I ordered cast exhaust manifolds that will face forward. To fix my header problem I’m just going to go ahead & build a single turbo setup now instead of later.

This place might have what you need. They made a pair for my T-bird that sits pretty low too.

Re: Headers
Buy a kit and start building your own. I can’t think of a shelf header that would be remotely close to fit a 64 Galaxie with 9” engine setback.

Re: Headers
How about these? This is a 460/532. The pipes are a bit oversize. The collector is 3.5, and had a 3 hole flange. I narrowed them to 3.0, shortened a bit, and replaced the 3 bolt with V bands.
One pic shows the height of the bottom of the 3.0 head pipe relative to the front part of a rear sump pan. Ground clearance would not be a problem. The turbo shown is by #1 cylinder.
