38 Special +P in a .357 Mag?

I just bought an EAA Witness .357 Mag snub nose revolver.

I was reading the field manual and it states firing .38 Special +P rounds violate the warranty.

How is this possible (especially considering all the trully Nasty loads for the .357 Mag )

I've never had an issue shooting .38 rounds thru any .357 I've ever had.

I've never had a gun that was issued legally. So.....

I would guess that this has to do with the pressure curve of the different rounds. The +P rounds can be very nasty buggers.

Dirty-8's will leave a lead ring in the longer 357 chambers. Then it can be tough to fully insert a 357 round, if you get one in...it may bulge the cylinder. A special reamer(expensive) is available to remove the lead from cylinders...without ruining them.

Not trying to be a smart-ass but....if you wanted to shoot .38 stuff....why buy a .357?

I bought .38 Special ammo for cheapier practice ammo.

If this tyurns into my carry gun I'll use .357 Mag Home Defense loads.

Should be a fine carry gun. First rule of gunfighting, is to have a gun.

Rule 3 is use it effectively small hits are better than loud misses
