Being new to this facet of "go fast cars" I'm looking to see where you trans brake guys have your switch mounted. I understand why you want it out of the way incase it inadvertently gets hit. I have some thoughts of where I want to mount mine but unsure since I've never had one before and hate to drill a hole then find out you don't want it there.

So if you would post some and explain why you mounted it there, I 'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance, Mike.

steering wheel is where we like it the best. used to have it low on the tranny tunnel behind the shifter.

Well my wheel is a factory wheel (85 LX) no spoke holes. I was thinking of putting it where you said you used to have it at.

Never had a trans brake before so here's another dumb question. Is this operation a one handed deal? Meaning if I have it mounted on the shifter boot frame (on the tunnel) right rear corner can I put the shifter in reverse then hit the button with the shifting hand? Does that way screw anything up? Or does the button have to be pushed and held then the shifter put in reverse. It's a pro-tree brake.

you can do it like that. put it in gear and then press the button.

or you can put a toggle switch on it to turn the brake on that way you can use both hands to steer in reverse.

I can't stand it on the steering wheel, always had issues getting all tangled up.

I hold the button in my right hand and set it on my lap. Been thinking about getting one on the shifter knob.

This is NOT my setup but it's in a similar location. I have the Biondo Terminator mounted on the trans/driveshaft tunnel right at the rear corner of the shifter housing. Similar to where this on is located.

One thing good about it at the shifter when you release it your hand is already at the shifter and if was to come up to high you can bump 2nd gear quicker.
Just my 2 cents on it .

This is mine, this car alone I've tried 5 different positions. This is the best for me so far. Occasionally I bump it getting in and out of the car but never while driving.

I like my button on the sterring wheel. I have the TB on the right and the bump-down on the left. My car is stretched out enough I don't have a problem tangleing up the cords. I also have an armrest looking piece that I can mount on the brace beside the seat where I once had an infra-red switch mounted.

It has alot too do w/what kinda racin you are doing imo. If you are for consistency it needs to be mounted in a comfortable position and a place that will give you the same quick release each and everytime. If you are going to just TnT,mount it where it will be out of the way and the cord is out of everythings way. If you have it too where you just hold it in your lap,you will not be consistant imo.
