vacum advance hose connection Empty vacum advance hose connection

Just installing a distributor from Scotty and am showing my ignorance. There is a hose connection on the side of the Holley metering block (ported vac?) and one underneath that has manifold vac. Is it correct to hook up to the manifold for the advance mechanism? Seems funny I know, but I never had anything before that used anything but mechanical advance! Thanks Guys.
