460 timing question....intake manifold question

I have a 75 460 all stock, i tried to time it and put it at 12 btc like the valve cover says, but it runs crappy , real doggy on low end, no power at all, ruff idol. I put it were the engine is smooth and runs good, and it seems to be about 30+ atc. I am not sure why or what is going on? I moved the distributor from one side to the other. Any thoughts?


what is the best intake for a street engine in a truck? Air gap or performer?

The stock intake is going to give best low end torque, if you just have to have an aluminum the performer (non-rpm) would be best. Has the timing chain been changed?
