I have a 72 460 block that has had all the machine work done and Ive been thinking about buying a blower kit for it (Dyers). The intent would be to make a street engine. As for the bottom end, can I use a stock crank? Ive read that the snouts are too long, but is that for high boost engines or any in general? How do stock 460 blocks handle superchargers? Would worked over D3 heads work out ok? Again, Im not looking for a 1000 horsepower, but I love the look and sound of the roots blower. Any other thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

I would think that the D3 heads with their large chambers would work well in a blower application. Sounds like you have an achievable goal. It's not that hard to shorten the crank snout. Call Adney Brown at Performance Crankshaft in Detroit, he knows what to do. Cool
