what oil pump and pick up for swap

ordering the oil pump and pick up today, i have the 460 truck rear sump oil pan , not for sure what year of oil pump and tube to order

I think the truck pan started being used in 1984 on f250 4x4's.
Make sure you get the main bolt with the stud also.

Pan and pickups come matched. The Melling pump would be good for you unless you want to go big and splurge for the Kaase pump. Not sure if the Kaase pump will fit in a stock 4x4 pan though.

I bet any pump other than the standard melling will require some pan mods to clear.

Make certain you have the truck pan and not the van pan; they are slightly different and use slightly different pickups which bolt to different main caps.

Don't know the application of your engine but we have oil pumps in standard and high volume that suit just about every engnie build out there, and are very value priced.

Do some searching on here too about some mods for that pan to keep the oil from climbing the rear of it while racing.

the pump is offering two different pick up tubes..one is 11-5/8..the other is 13-1/4 long

John I believe the 11 5/8 is for the van pan it has the sump off centered to the rear that is what mine was anyhow and I am running a van pan on mine maybe this will help you on yours.

just got off the phone with summit racing..ordered the ford racing pan kit ..comes with the stud..oil pan..gasket..pickup tube ..dipstick..160.00
