C6 servo question

Post  Wayne Pearce on Sat Aug 27, 2011 9:37 am

I'm in the process of rebuilding my C6 transmission, and found two gaskets under the servo cover. Is there anything to be gained by doubling the gaskets? The transmission was a fresh rebuild when I bought it several years ago, It has given me good service but it was getting tired. I can't ask the guy that rebuilt the transmission about the double gaskets as he died a few years ago. So, anything to be gained - or did the rebuilder just goof up??

No need for 2 gaskets .. Unless the cover is warped or damaged and someone tried to seal a leak ??

Thanks for the response, I wondered if there was some sort of "old time black magic" involved here, as the rebuilder was a locally well know tranny guy. I just had to ask, thanks again.
