QUESTION;WHAT IS A "MAFIA" intake?,

weve been browsing the site for a few months now and love it, want to know what does the mafia term stand for when they say get the mafia intake? Thanks MAV. MAN.

some say it's the best intake ever made for a cj head..................

Thanks guys, We have a set of tfs a460`S , with matching intake. prt #(TFS-5440111-C), is this considered the Mafia intake?

I heard Marlin Brando made the first one

if you have a set of A460 heads it will not work on them, it has to be the std port layout like tfs Streets P51's Edelbrocks and such, the A460 hads are a different class all together

Thanks for the info,we know the ports are different,We just did,nt know if the a-460 style intakes were considered as a"MAFIA",THANKS AGAIN, THE MAV MAN.

It's said all other intakes that get in it's way are found with cinder blocks attached at the bottom of the tradewater river

The Mafia intake is for oem style ports.Its the latest and greatest out there right now for those heads. The Tfs-A heads take a different style intake. The new style TFS A single 4 intake is the best production intake for A heads out there imo.The guy's that redsigned the "MAFIA" intake are all MOBSTERS from TennTucky. TRUE STORY

The name stems from where it got it s roots.
A bunch of guys who playfully called themselves the "TFS mafia" got together and almost demanded a better intake manifold for CJ size ports and a Dominator carb pattern from Trick Flow.
They were instrumental in getting it pushed to the "front burner" and got it done.
That is where the name originated.

Yes if it has the factory oval intake as does the original heads....

I didnt have a hand in it design, but the name is a different stroy.................

It will work with ported DOVE heads. I ran one of the first ones on my 552 ci vac class mud drag engine. I didn't back to back dyno it to see the difference, but it will fit, and it does work. It has some big runners and would work better with large displacement engines in a racing application. BTW I think I am the only one who ever used it on DOVE size heads, they were some pretty well ported heads and I did have a fairly large cam in it and good C/R.
