no need to start another thread...............its a dead horse anyway..................
Your talking about a 3k low. 5 second 1/8 mile power adder car, Rich is talking about a 6-7 second 1/4 mile n/a door car. When you build a car you generally have a transmission in mind you plan on using and set the car up accordingly. There's no denying the mechanical advantage of a 3 speed, however you also have to factor in the ability to get the car down the track consistently with 3 gears I.e shiftpoints, and the simplicity, low maintenance, and durability of the glide. Pick what you'd like they both have their place.

Barney,

Speaking of 6-7 second 1/4 mile n/a door cars,,,,,what e.t. did Rich's car end up running this year. I believe y'all had just brought the car out at the Ford Bash and still had some sorting out to do.

Barney,

Speaking of 6-7 second 1/4 mile n/a door cars,,,,,what e.t. did Rich's car end up running this year. I believe y'all had just brought the car out at the Ford Bash and still had some sorting out to do.

CHARLIE

He's close , We didnt get to test as much as i wanted to this year ,To many other projects to work on, but the bash was the 4th and 5th ( TEST) pass for the car.Wasn't going to go for lack of testing , but ran a 5.20 and a 5.00 flat there before the rain came. Car went to the right on the 5 0 pass so i pulled the chute early as i already had the wheel turned. Not bad seeing it has the nos converter in it and the mufflers on. BUT I WASNT HAPPY,it was on a better pass.

AT BYRON in same testing mode (mufflers/ nos converter) NO nos. we ran 4.90 7.80's out of the trailer same tune, A little beter track condtions but still spun the tires too much. this being the 6th and 7th passes on the car.

BJ and Ron were talking about it all day only other pass that came close was a BBC powered rail with 3 stages of nitrous that went 7.86@183.

I was impressed!
